读者在解题之前，应当认真地把所给的文字材料和图片看一遍，以便对故事的情节有一个初步的了解。看完以后，再看下面的5个题，就可以找出答案了。如第36题在问Dominic来自何方，我们从“Dominic is a French boy．”就能得知，他来自法国，我们就可以回答：
He is／comes from France．当你看到第37题时，你会从“He is on an English course．”找出答案是：He studied English there．第38题问的是Dominic误车的原因，我们能够从他在给Mrs．Bond的电话中找到这样一句：I met some French students and forgot the time．当然，你在回答这个问题时，就不能原句照搬，而要加以改动，用“Because he met some French students and then forgot the time．”来回答。第39题问的是Dominic起初打算怎样回来，我们能从“I came back by train．”得到答案：He planned to go back by train．从故事中Dominic说的最后一句话可以看出，它正好是第40题的答案：It went to Brighton．
