Hello! Glad to see you —— These words I'm sure make you feel very- happy. They should! They are very

important. Yes, they are very important and that's why they feature in Chapter One of this spoken English

course."Hello" is probably the most common GREeting in all the English-speaking countries. You can use it at

any time of the day and to your friends,  workmates and to strangers with whom you come into contact.

Other GREetings are: used only at certain times of the day. Here are some of those:

    Good morning!              (until lunch )
Good afternoon!            (between lunch and 5 p.m. )
    Good evening!              (from 5 p.m)
Good night!                (before sleep or when leaving someone in the evening)

Of course, you know these only too well. Do you wanl Io make your English sound more natural? Then

learn to shorlen your responses, like this:

    A: Good morning!
    B: Morning!
    A: Good afternoon!
    B: Afternoon!

    A: Good evening!
    B: Evening!

    A: Good night!
    B: Night!
