neither意为“两者都不”，与both相反，其谓语用单数形式。如：
Neither of his parents knows English．他的父母都不懂英语。
I like neither flower．两朵花我都不喜欢。
none既可用来代表人或物，表示“（三个以上）一个也没有”，但它又不简单地等于no one（nobody）和nothing，下面几点我们要注意：
1）no one泛指“没有人（＝nobody）”，一般不接of短语，作主语时，谓语动词用单数；none往往用作固定范围内的“任何一个也没有”，常接of短语，作主语时，谓语动词既可用单数，也可用复数，但当它后接不可数名词时，谓语动词只能用单数形式。如：
No one enjoys the film．没人喜欢这部电影。
No one knows about it．没有人知道此事。
None of us have ／has been to Beijing．我们中没有一个人到过北京。
None of them is ／are Japanese．他们当中没有一个是日本人。
None of this money is mine．这些钱都不是我的。
2）none单独使用时，总是用来代替文中提到的特定的人和物， no one和nothing并不指文中提到的人和物。如：
Twelve girls were invited，but none（＝not any girl）arrived．邀请了十二个女孩，但一个女孩也没来。（如用no one则意为不但女孩，连其它什么人也没来。）
I need some paper，but there is none（＝no paper）left．我需要一些纸，但一点也没有。（如用nothing则意为不但纸，连别的什么东西也没有。）
3）用what，who提问的句子要分别用nothing，no one（nobody）来回答；用how many，how much提问的句子则要用none来回答。如：
—Who is in the room？谁在房间里？
—No one（Nobody）．没谁。
—What is in your bag？你包里有什么？
—Nothing．没什么。
