Shanghai Sees Its Dream Come True
As a resident of Shanghai，I've seen its rapid developm ent with my own eyes．I am surprised by how GREat it is．
When I was a child，I lived in a very small，old house with my parents and grandparents．The stairs were narrow and dark and became very scary（可怕的）at night．Now，I live with only my parents in a tall and clean building．I even have my own room． 
And what makes me happiest is that Shanghai has won the right to host the 2010 World Expo！We Shanghai people have worked hard and it is a dream come true．
Shanghai is now creating a blueprint（蓝图）for the 2010 World Expo．This city has witnessed（目睹）rapid changes．As Shanghai people often say：“One year，a change．Three years a GREat change．”Changes happen to people here every day．
In the past several years，the opening and development of Pudong has pushed Shanghai to the front of China's economic reform（经济改革）．
Over Huangpu River，there are now five bridges—Nanpu，Yangpu，Fengpu，Xupu and Songpu bridges．The city government has also built a three-dim ensional express transport network（立体快速交通网）．So，it is very convenient for people to get from place to place．
Shanghai is known as a shopping heaven．People can buy many kinds of fashionable（时髦的）things in Nanjing Road，Huaihai Road and Xujiahua area．These are also centres of entertainment（娱乐）and good places to go to have a rest on the weekends．
Shanghai is a dynamic（有活力的）cultural city．Every year，it hosts many important meetings．The city has built a lot of large public cultural facilities，such as the Shanghai Library and the Shanghai Book Centre．They all offer our students good environments to study and much rich information．Also，more and more people— young and old—are beginning to learn English．Shanghai residents are developing a global（全球的）view．
With all these rapid changes and developm ents，I am sure that by 2010，Shanghai will be fully able to host the World Expo．The city will become a window for Chinese people to know the world and for the world to learn about China．
