Arsenal Ladies FC have excellent backing and support from Arsenal Football Club. Clare Wheatley, assisted by Ciara Grant and Faye White, are employed by Arsenal FC solely to develop and co-ordinate the female side of the club. A further three senior players also work at the Academy overseeing the youth development of the club.
The Reserve team is mainly made up from the girls in the Arsenal Youth Academy, which continues to prosper. The Academy is run under the guidance of Academy Director and assistant first team coach Emma Hayes and first team player and Assistant Academy Director Kelly Smith . First team players Jayne Ludlow and Emma Byrne also support the Academy as full time staff. The Arsenal Ladies academy enables players aged between 16 and 19 to combine daily football coaching with academic study.
Arsenal Ladies have continued to play their part in the development of the game. Their established Soccer Schools provides the opportunity for girls of all standards to be involved in the game. Whether it be introducing girls to the game for the first time, or providing some competition for those who have been playing longer. The soccer schools are designed to offer girls aged 7-14 the chance to see what football has to offer and continue to bring opportunities to more and more potential players in a fun and relaxed environment.
The Ladies teams have representation at International level wherever possible and in addition have forged close links to countries around the world. The club still continues to receive enquiries from Internationals from Portugal, Brazil, Nigeria, Japan, USA, Australia and New Zealand. Presently the senior ladies team boasts the calibre of more than 14 Internationals.
