One day, I called my classmate, Liu Yu, to wish her a happy birthday.
"Hello?"said the man who answered the phone.
"Hello, may I speak to Liu Yu?"
"I am afraid you have the wrong number."
"I am sorry, I replied and hung up the phone. Then I dialled the number again, only to hear the same man's voice. This time I was more careful, I told him I was Liu's classmate at Ningbo University.
"Ningbo University?" May be hearing the name of the university reminded him who she was. He told me the number I called was for the company where Liu's father worked and that he was Liu's father's colleague. "So, is there any message? "he asked.
I realized Liu had left me with her father's telephone number at work. I told him my purpose, then he asked my name and told me that he would pass on my happy birthday message to her for me.
September came and the new term began. I was really puzzled when I heard what Liu said as soon as we met. She thanked me for my birthday card. Birthday card?... I felt surprised.

It is the kind of beautiful story which I had thought could happen only in a novel before, but it has really happened to me.
