高一英语错误辨析13-14

下面几个例子，都是同学们易经常犯错的地方，希望经过“诊断”后勿重犯。

1. 今年我父亲的工厂所生产的钢铁和去年一样多。

       [误] This year my father’s factory produced so much steel as last year.

       [误] This year my father’s factory produced as steel much as last year.

       [正] This year my father’s factory produced as much steel as last year.

       [析] as ... as引导一个比较结构，意为“象……一样”。只有在否定句中，才可以使用so ... as结构。如：

       It is not so/as cold today as it was yesterday.今天没有昨天冷。

       另外as ... as的结构间若有名词，则结构为as + adj./adv. + (a/an) + n. + as...的形式。请看高考题：

       It is generally believed that teaching is ________ it is a science.

      A. an art much as             

       B. much an art as

       C. as an art much as            

       D. as much an art as   (key: D)

       2. 他们很早出发，以便能及时赶到车站。

       [误] So that they can arrive at the station in good time, they set out early.

       [正] In order that they can arrive at the station in good time, they set out early.

       [正] They set out early in order that they can arrive at the station in good time.

       [正] They set out early so that they can arrive at the station in good time.

       [析] so that, in order that都可以引导目的状语从句，二者常可互换，但in order that可置于句首，且常用于正式文体中，而so that则一般不置于句首。请看高考题：

       John shut everybody out of the kitchen _______ he could prepare his grand surprise for the party.

       A. which    B. when    

       C. so that   D. as if(key: C)

       另外so that还可以引导结果状语从句。如：

       He studied very  hard, so that he caught up with the other classmates.他学习非常努力，所以赶上了其他同学。

       3.他们给我们提供食物。

       [误] They offered us with food.

       [正] They offered us food.

       [正] They supplied us with food.

       [正] They provided us with food.

       [析]“给某人供应某物”，可以使用短语offer sb. sth./offer sth. to sb.，supply sb. with sth./supply sth. to sb.，provide sb. with sth./provide sth. for sb.。请看高考题：

       All the rooms are ______ with electric light.

       A. supplied       B. given   

       C. offered        D. burnt(key: A)

       4. 这就是我昨天丢失的那枝钢笔。

       [误] This is the same pen as I lost yesterday.

       [正] This is the same pen that I lost yesterday.

       [析] “与……一样”，the same... as ...强调的是同样性（与……是同样的），而the same ... that... 强调的是同一性（与……是同一个）。

       5. 我和他们一样都准备帮助你。

    [误] I as well as they are ready to help you.

       [误] I as well they as ready to help you.

       [正] I as well as they am ready to help you.

       [析] 并列连词as well as（和……一样，同……一样），引导两个主语时，谓语动词数的形式应根据前面的主语定。而as well与also, too同义，不用于否定句，常置于句末。请看高考题：

       John plays football _______, if not better than, David.
