As they were riding home back， they had to pass through a dark and mysterious forest. The pine trees were so tall and GREw so close together， that they shut out the light. Suddenly， the sky became very black and a strong wind began to blow through the trees.
At that moment， with a loud roar， the red monster appeared. The princess cried out with fear but the monster dragged her off， and tried to take her away.
One-Inch pulled out his sword and attacked the monster. He struck the monster many times. The monster couldn't bear the pain and ran away， dropping his "treasure".
If a man shook this magic hammer and made a wish， the wish would come true. When the princess asked One-Inch for his wish， he replied， "I should like to become as big as an ordinary man."
She shook the hammer and， in a FLASH， Little One-Inch became a tall and noble young man. Together they returned to the city， to tell the Lord of One-Inch's victory over the monster.
"I thank you from the bottom of my heart，" said the lord， "What can I give you， in return for your brave act？"
"I should like to marry your daughter，" he said.
The lord laughed and aGREed.
So One-Inch married the beautiful princess and lived happily with his parents in the city ever after.
一天，公主跑去城外的一座庙里，小不点和几个随从和她一同前往。
回家的路上，他们得穿过一片漆黑神秘的森林。松树很高，挨得紧紧的，把光都挡住了。突然，天一下子变黑了，树上刮过一阵疾风。
就在这时，随着一阵吼声，那只红色的怪物出现了。公主害怕地哭了起来。怪物拖住它，想把她带走。
小不点拔出他的剑开始和怪物搏斗。他击中了好几次，怪物无法忍受疼痛逃跑了，留下了他的宝物。
一个人如果摇一摇这只魔锤并许个愿，他的愿望就会成真。当公主问小不点想许什么愿时，小不点回答道：“我想变得和正常人一样高大。”
她摇了摇魔锤，随着一道亮光，小不点变成了一个气质高雅的年轻人。他们一起回到城里，把小不点打败怪物的消息告诉了君主。
“我从心底里感谢你，”君主说，“我能给你什么作为你勇敢作为的奖赏呢？”
“我要和你的女儿结婚。”他说。
君主笑了笑答应了。
于是小不点便和美丽的公主结婚了，和他的父母快乐地住在一起。
